Since digital cameras have become more accessible, the amount of pictures we have to manage on our hard drives has increased exponentially. Keeping track of them can be made easier with Thumbs Plus. Its flexible features will help you organize and catalog your images with greater efficiency. You can also use it to edit multiple images at once, create web pages and more. All these tasks can be performed from a single, easy to understand user interface.

The installation kit is almost 20 Mb large, so downloading it on a slower Internet connection could take a little longer. Installing Thumbs Plus is a straightforward task. The wizard will display detailed explanations during each step of the process, so there is no possibility to get something wrong.

The interface is designed like an explorer window, so making use of it will feel familiar from the beginning. The images themselves are displayed as thumbnails on the central part of the window. A navigation pane on the left will let you browse your folders, create new ones or move images to another place with simple drag and drop actions. The software features a built in image viewer. Double clicking an image or selecting one and clicking the View button on the toolbar will display it in a separate window. Here you can perform basic editing tasks, like adjusting the colors, balance or depth, cropping the image, adding filters or stamps and many more. You can also open multiple images by selecting them and clicking the View Synched button on the toolbar. The images will be displayed in separate windows which will be fitted on your screen automatically.

The software will display any file's thumbnail the same way as images. When right clicking any file, you will find some useful options in the context menu which will pop up. These include rotating or flipping the file's thumbnail, sending the file to a gallery, copying the thumbnail, image or file name to the clip board and more. Images can also be batch processed. The designated button on the toolbar will launch a wizard which will guide you step by step, all the way. During these steps you may specify a name, basic info, make adjustments and transformations, which will be applied to all the targeted images. It is also possible to create a web page with your images. This is done the same way as with batch processing: select your images, click a toolbar button and a wizard will be launched. When creating a web page, there is quite a number of steps you will have to go through. You can select one of many page styles, set the number of rows or columns, the spacing between them, the size of the thumbnails and a lot more. You can skip any of these steps by clicking the Finish button instead of the Next one. When you are done with the wizard, the web page will be saved to a specified location as a HTML, accompanied by the selected images.

Pros

Thumbs Plus offers a large array of tools and options which will make it a lot easier to organize images or thumbnails. Creating a web page, batch editing images and other tasks are made easy due to wizards which guide you step by step.

Cons

It is not possible to select multiple files by clicking and dragging a rectangle around them or to copy or cut them with CTRL + C/X and CTRL + V. Thumbs Plus lets you perform any kind of action on an image or thumbnail from a single, user friendly interface.
